Bharatanatyam

Overview

The history of Bharatanatyam can be traced from ancient inscriptions and poetic works. It is seen that dynasties like Kadamba, Ganga, Chola, Pandya, Chalukya, Hoysala, Vijayanagara and other rulers patronized this art during their reign. Temple architecture has also emphasized the fact that fine arts and culture were given a special place in history.

Learn and master the primary components of the art form i.e. nritta( abstract rhythmic component), nritya (abhinaya or expressions) and natya (dramatic storytelling through dance) through the diploma program of 5 years, that handholds a student from the foundational aspects and progresses through various levels such as Basic, Intermediate and Advanced levels of learning.

Group classes at the IME and online one-to-one classes are offered for this course, which are handled by expert faculty.
